The sperm whale event

Pandora.  She took me one night to a psychic reading in San Francisco.  We arrived too early for the reading and so decided to go have a drink at a nearby bar.  She thought that some of the people going to the reading might be at the bar as well.  As it turned out they weren't.  She is a fun date, very upbeat and chatty and beautiful.  We sat at the bar and while we were finishing our drinks I commented on these toy sperm whales that were hanging over the bar by there tails.  They were plastic, hanging by strings.  They reminded me of the sperm whale in Hitchhikers Guild to the Galaxy.  The whale that started as a missile, fired from planet Magreathea and was changed into a sperm whale by the improbability drive on the space ship the Heart of Gold (great reading, this book has the answer to life, the universe, and everything!).  The whale was just becoming aware of the universe just before it fell through the atmosphere and crashed into the planet leaving a large messy crater.  Anyway the point of all this is that I said I thought that the whales were cool and that I wanted one.  Pandora said something about me getting one if I wanted it.  I laughed.

We went to the psychic which I thought was a bunch of bull shit.  A lot of people wanting to believe what this really good-looking guy said about them.   We finished and finally left.  I think Pandora had some interest in this guy, which although she and I were just friends, I was still jealous (on principal).  So, we leave and I try to say positive stuff about the evening.  I did have fun, always did when I was with Pandora.  She seemed to sense that I was thinking that the guy was a fake.  She said agreeable things and we chatted and laughed on our way the car.

When the car was in sight I notice that there is something on the hood.  I guessed what it was right away but I didn't really believe it untill I picked it up.  I couldn't understand how it got there.  A sperm whale, a plastic sperm whale exactly like those from the bar.  We had walked in a triangle from my car to the bar, then to the psychic and then back to my car.  Did it fall from the sky?  improbability drive?  I think it was magik.
